Anybody know what to put on them? They are all over my lawn.
I have read great reviews about a product called Sucker Stopper, but cant find anywhere to buy it.

Sadly I have no idea, im not really a keen gardener.
There is a large tree over the back, but also there are a couple of stumps in the area too. If I got a photo of the suckers would you be able to tell me?0 -

I'm pretty sure someone would recognise them.
What I'm not so sure about is are they suckers, most trees set seed, how far is your lawn from this tree? The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
No help, but I'm interested in the answer, as we keep getting no end of suckers popping up in our lawn from next door's plum tree! At the moment all we do is cut them off as far down as we can reach when they pop their heads up.0

And I've been trying to germinate plum stones for years with no success. Why are you turning your back on all that healthy fruit? The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
See if you can cut the root(s), by putting a spade in around the sucker but not lifting the sod.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

I would have no objection if they will grow into a healthy, fruit bearing tree! A friend of mine told me that I should absolutely be stopping them from growing? She's got very green fingers, so I assumed she knew what she was talking about! (we do have a plum tree planted over the other side of our garden, but it's too young for fruit yet).0 -
All plum trees that you buy from commercial growers are grafted on to a rootstock. It is this rootstock which is throwing out the suckers and if you let them grow on the eventual trees will just produce inferior small green wild plums not the variety that has been grafted on. There is not much you can do to stop the suckers, just keep digging them up.
However, the original post refers to a neighbours large tree. One large tree which throws out suckers everywhere is the poplar and if it is this then again there is not much you can do other than dig them out.0
