hi my son is asking, what graphics card should he get for a Dell dimension 1100 to use for gaming please he has the old family computer but wants to make it work better thanks x

If you supply the info off the Dell service tag I can give you precise info however I think that's a really old pentium P4 model and not worth spending a penny on. Put the money toward a new or decent second hand PC box.
If you give an indication of budget available people here will be able to give you tips on a new pc box.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

A Dell Dimension 1100 is very old - too old to consider upgrading for games.0 -
As per the above comments, don't spend any money on it.
However if you can pick up a PCI NVIDIA GeForce 6200 for FREE on somewhere like Freecycle or similar, then he may be able to play older legacy games.0
