This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine
Morning all,
Nice day here again although its a bit cooler will hopefully brighten up later on.
Work today and because its sunny it will be busy with the children being on holiday now every day is busier !
Jacket spud for dinner tonight with LO chilli for OH and I, dd will have chilli and pasta, she doesn't like jackets.
Need to clean the bathroom tonight and have a hoover through upstairs.
My Agapanthus has sprung into flower overnight and I can see them from the lounge window, they look beautiful ! Its a nice sight to look out on.
Have good days all xx

Morning RR & all who cross post & follow.
Sunny here today, but I'm not sure how long for.
Hubby's working 10 until 6 today, but he's on a different shift tomorrow.
I'm visiting DD1 today but I probably won't stay long as I'm there all day Thursday as she has to sort out her Grandma's house as it is being sold to cover Grandma's care.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning :hello:
tiredmum you sound positive

dumpling If someone didn't come to my birthday tea because of agoraphobia I wouldn't be offended in the slightest. If they did come, I'd probably worry that they'd forced themselves out when they didn't want to, in case they offended me!
snoozer I'm glad your daughter's doing well
Finger's crossed for your mum's house. I hope you catch up with some sleep xx
Scampi is much more relaxed around me than mr tru, because I always stick to the same rules. Walks are getting worse again though, he instantly goes from calm to manic and I can't snap him out of it. There must be something that'll work for him, I just haven't found it yet. I've put some stones in a plastic bottle, he hates the noise it makes and freezes when we're in the house, fingers crossed it works when we're out!
I managed to get most jobs done so I've almost caught up with myself

I need to buy more bamboo canes, most of mine are old and I always think I can get just one more year's use out of them, lol. They're starting to snap, I found a couple of tomato plants on the floor yesterday.
I have a couple of t-shirts that have stretched out of shape, I'm going to sew them straight again today. Still struggling with those shirts, I lost my temper with them the other day but I'm not giving up. There are too many new clothes for me in that pile so I can't throw them out

Good morning all, thank you RR for starting us off.
Very overcast here, and I think it probably will be for much of the day.
I have the hairdressers this morning and taking DGD2 to the orthodontist this afternoon.
Elona I hope the viewing went well yesterday and you have some positive feedback.
Have a good day all

Morning everyone.
Yesterday it rained all day without a break and it's still raining now. That meant that the washing didn't get done and I doubt it will get done today either.
I had a lovely restful day yesterday and just slobbed around.which means I have a list of things to get through today.
I hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning All
Another wet day, it hasn't stopped raining since Sunday about 2pm, so difficult to get any motivation! Washing on the airer, DW emptied and work surfaces wiped down - again.
I now have stairs that don't creak! Seems a bit weird but they have been strengthened too so all good. No builders for a week or so but the plasterers will be here today and a painter is coming to give me a quote this morning.
I ordered a couple of settees yesterday, just hope it's all done in 6 weeks or so when they arrive. I'm trying to paint the frame of a mirror for DD from white to black and it is proving to be a bit of a nightmare. Waxing it now and it looks ok. I was given it so if it doesn't work it's no great loss but a similar one in TK Max is selling for £45 so I want it to work!
I have a busy day, painter coming about 8.30, swimming when the pool opens at 10, Dentist around lunch time (must check the time), meeting friends for coffee later and then dinner out with friends I've not seen for ages tonight.
dumpling - Just do what you feel able to, I'm sure your DD and future SIL can visit you so you can get to meet him properly.
tru - stick in there, Scampi obviously loves you and will want to please you so you'll get there with him.
Pleased to hear your DD is doing well snoozer.
RR - Did you get to speak with the little madam?
Off for a shower now, have a good day and take care. XX0 -
Morning all. Yet another wet day here. The rain started Sunday afternoon and hasn't stopped since. It seems it's to carry on all day too.
I feel like a wet rag this morning. Up and down to the loo all night. I do wish someone could find a magic cure for this ongoing complaint of mine. A friend has suggested a Chinese herbalist but I'm not too sure about that. Anybody heard any good reports about them?
I hate throwing away money but after going on 2 months I.m still not happy with the new specs I paid a small fortune for. They are just not me and I'm now back to wearing my old specs. Today we plan a trip to the nearest As*a Opticians (following Candlelight's lead) and I will see if I can get a pair I like better!
Just got some meatballs out to defrost for tea and will have with pasta and a frito sauce. If we are back for lunch there is some bacon that needs eating but we may just treat ourselves to lunch out instead.
Have a good day all whatever you are up to (((((((HUGS))))))) if you need them and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's dry but a bit grey looking outside today. I think it might rain later on, it's such a shame for all the tourists here although there are plenty of indoor places to go and visit.
Hubby has gone off to work with a spring in his step as he has booked the rest of the week off
. The girls are all fast asleep and I am cooking some bacon medallions whilst typing on here, closely watched by Max in case any of the bacon falls off the grill :rotfl:.
I didn't manage to make it to my DD's yesterday but apparently it was very busy there with lots of his friends turning up as well as his twin brother and nieces. I hope he understood and will come and meet me here at home. Hubby and the girls went so it's not like we were ignoring his birthday and I sent a card and some money.
I'm hoping my friend will come over to see me today. She's just come back from driving to Spain and back and she says the journey was horrific with a four hour detour due to the trouble at Dover/Calais. She's got to go back in a couple of weeks so may fly next time to avoid it. Anyway, I've really missed her and would love to have a catch up.
I will be making pork curry for tea tonight as we didn't have it yesterday because of the party. I think I have some bhajis frozen so I will dig them out as well.
Well, that's all from me, hope you all have a great day whatever you are getting up to, take care xx0 -
Good Morning everyone, well today is the day........Barcelona!!!!! I'm a bit like a 3 year old on Christmas eve, so excited and raring to go. Suitcase packed, passport and paperwork ready, guide book to the fore and I have to wait until lunchtime to get the train to the airport, going to be a l o n n g morning.
Be good until we're back but have as much fun as you can and look after yourselves, see you on Saturday, Lyn xxx.0 -

Have a great time on holiday.
Thought I heard someone knocking on the front door an hour ago so went downstairs and it was a small package for dd. Realised I had not put out the recycling boxes so put on coat over my pyjamas
and found my shoes and braved the rain.
Have had a cup of tea, tweetabix with chopped banana and going to get ready for dr's appt at 11 this morning.
Ended up having two viewings yesterday, one at 2p.m. and another at 6.30. EA sya someone wants to view at the weekend but I will be away so will have to let them do it.
Youngest dd not happy as her shower will not work - electrics are off and I cannot sort the tripped switch. She is using mine and not happy and if it does not sort itself by this afternoon will have to contact electrician.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"
