Hi
I've had a Post Office classic credit card for years. I had it because it didn't charge me a transaction fee on foreign currency purchases. I now see that they no longer offer this card and the offer a Post Offfice Matched credit card instead and this charges 2.99% on foreign currency transactions. Only the Platinum doesn't charge this.
Does anyone know if the classic card has turned into the Matched card or will I still have the Classic card terms and conditions because I've had the card so long? Anyone know what the score is? martin Lewis...do you?
When did this all change?
I certainly don't remember ever being advised of this change. Can anyone help?

I have a whole bunch of "old" credit cards which I got due to their zero transaction charge and zero commission on overseas purchases. All are no longer available to new customers, yet my existing cards maintain their zero charges.
One of these cards is a Post Office card, which I last used on 4th April and had no charges/commission applied. My postings reflect my lifetime's experience and my opinion. You are quite welcome to respond with your experiences and option, whether similar or different.0 -
Thanks. I remain hopeful then that my recent holiday transactions will be on the old basis. I will post on here if I find out for sure. In the meantime if anyone else knows the score please post. I want to know if things will change at any point in the future .0

I managed to phone the Post Office this am and they confirm that my Classic card conditions haven't changed and it's only the new Matched card that charges the 2.99% on purchases in a foreign currency.0

Both the matched and Platinum offer APRs up to almost 23%.
They've probably just discontinued the classic branding. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
