My ds has split up with his wife who was claiming esa with him on the claim,he is living at a mates house and completed the online application for what was isa but in his area is uc,he has had some interviews and hope to find work soon,he has a face to face interview at the job centre on thurs having applied online last thurs
when can he expect payment?as i understand its now monthly?
(she has said she has told the dwp to take him off her claim)

It's not her claim it's their claim. They both have to make new claims. Hope the wife knows this as the money she is getting as part of a couple will stop too once he's claimed as a single person.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

His wife doesn't have to make a new claim as the ESA claim was in her name with him as partner. She just has to advise ESA that he is to be removed from her claim and it will be amended accordingly. The part of the payment for him will cease from the day they split. Whether or not he makes a claim for benefit in his own right is irrelevant.0
