How to amend credit report after bankruptcy discharge

Hi everyone,
I am a recently discharged bankrupt (last week) and am now in the process of trying to amend my report through Experian by making sure it is all correct. As I entered my details I noted that my bankruptcy was noted on the report however it was still showing over 900. As I understand it 999 is the best score that you can get and whilst I would be happy to just take that as my score I cant help but feel that this must be incorrect but I dont know how to amend it as it already holds my bankruptcy data. It just doesnt seem right then that I still have a good score but dont know how to dispute it as all the information shown otherwise is correct. Can anyone help please? TIA

Ignore it. The score means nothing and no one sees it but you.0

The score doesn't mean a thing but you do need to check that the history is correct, especially after bankruptcy.
Go to the Bankruptcy board & read the sticky on cleaning up your credit files. You need to wait a couple of months after discharge before cleaning up but still have a read.

Hi The Clarkesta,
Congratulations on being discharged! Now is a good time to make sure your report is in order, so you can start rebuilding your credit history.
Make sure that the Bankruptcy Order has a discharge date showing on it. If it hasn't the contact us with confirmation of the discharge so we can make sure it is updated.
Check that all the defaulted accounts that were included in the bankruptcy have a default date that is the same, or earlier than the bankruptcy date. If the lenders haven't yet updated the defaults to show as satisfied, let us know and we can get these queried for you to.
As the defaults and bankruptcy get older they will have less impact on your report and Experian score, and then after six years they come off the report automatically.
For more about rebuilding your report after bankruptcy take a look at our Ask James page.
Kind regards
