Any Point Me Having a Credit Card?

I original took out a credit card about 10 years ago to pay for flights as Lufthansa did not accept debit cards. All this is changed now and I pay via Paypal or debit card. Are there any advantages of using a credit card rather than a debit card?

Yes. As credit cards appear on your credit report having a card and using it responsibly will show you can handle credit and so help if you need a mortgate or loan later

In some countries like the United States, certain places won't accept Debit Cards or will want to make very large holds if you want to use one (Most US hotels). A credit card is often needed or very helpful in these situations.

I would have one just for emergency, you never know when you might need an emergency 3k to hand. If your stuck abroad for example.

Better to be home with debt (you can pay off!), than stuck abroad with nothing and perhaps in some situations being in danger.

Get a rewards/cashback type card and you can get a 1% discount off everything you ever buy. May not sound a lot but if you push everything you can (at least that dont charge a CC fee anyway) via it and it can add up over the year.

Additionally you get S75 protection on anything over £100 which can be particularly useful with overseas purchases or if a company goes bust.
