    Its not advice, its my opinion. Someone should not use MSE as full advice. Users might say I advise or suggest, but its not advice that one should use alone.

    No bank is going bust unless the government allows it to, i.e. does not bail it out, and why would a government not bail it out, because the government its self was in the mess.

    If you bank with a small bank then take better care, but most of us are with very large banks, if they fail its a lot of money the government has to pay back to us.

    If it was something like 500k, then I would split it up, but most people do that for security anyway, not all the eggs in one basket etc.
