Can I Claim back for Mileage

Hi all. Since starting with a new company in March 2014 I have had a company car. I have to date travelled over 40,000 business miles. I have to pay for my own fuel but I am reimbursed 13p for each business mile I travel. I do not claim mileage for private mileage. Can I claim back any further amounts from the government? I have tried looking into it but it is really confusing.

The government? You mean us, the taxpayers? Why should we pay you anything?

I doubt it, my wife gets the same as you(although it did briefly drop down to 12p per mile for a few months??), the amount per mile is set by HMRC.

Like my wife, you get a free car, with free tax, insurance, tyres, servicing...etc and they pay you for the fuel for work use. 13p per mile is quite good TBH, she makes a few pounds per week which she uses for car washes etc.

The one thing you can claim(ish) is get a reward card and use the same garage!! works out quite a bit at xmas
Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].

Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE
