Bank clearance times

I am looking to switch banks to one that clears wages / bacs early.

I currently have halifax and they dont clear over weekends and nights before if that makes sense.

Can someone suggest a bank that either clears monday due wages on a sat / sunday

also if if clears say Thursday it might go into the account wed evening after 10pm im sure santander does.

Your best bet is to find out who your employer banks with, that way it is usually quicker

Barclays and Natwest / RBS clear payments on a Saturday due for Monday.

However for NatWest/RBS this will be changing in the future.

Yorkshire (and therefore Clydesdale?) certainly used to.


But be aware that debits due Monday will also be processed Saturday...so you may still not have access to the full value of the credit?

I think Barclays do this credits that are due to go into my account on a Monday, usually show as available on Saturday.
