how much to change names on a morg

hi all was wondering if any one new the price of changing names on a mortgage.
my dad passed away not so long ago an my brother is taking over the house. (the morgage is paid off)
we got probait just recently just needs the house in his name. ive looked on the directgov. web site found a link to land registry but get a bit lost. i no we will need to talk t9 somebody but just wondering for now how much it cost aprox

    You can't change the names on a mortgage that simply. The process is the same as for any new mortgage application with the lender checking affordability and status before agreeing to the transfer of equity.

    You need to ask the lender concerned, or if remortgaging to a new lender, the new lender requirements.

    ye sorry he had paid it off late last year. so will just be change of names from my dads to brothers. so will it be land registry we contact or will we need to contact any one else. .been such a head ache so far an now probaits arrived its time to push forwards with things

    I have just had to change name on deeds and register with the land registry. Land registry fee was £190, solicitors fee's were £300 + VAT, then there was ID search fee. Total was £572

    reaaly thats not too bad some guy told my girl friend its around 1500.
