I have a Samsung N150 notebook which has stopped working. Basically it will not power on or off even after charging. i had recently bought a new battery so i know it is not that. Yesterday my more technical friend who also has one came round and diagnosed a fault with the on/off switch. how hard is it to repar? I know it is basically worthless but I want to recover some data from it and if it is a simple repair it might be worthwhile for me to attempt it .

If the actual switch has failed then it's motherboard out.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
good answer fightsback , however if the OP just wants to retrieve some data , perhaps a simple drive enclosure might be the answer . hell he can then (after removing data) use it as a spare USB drive http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-inch-External-HDD-SSD-Hard-Disk-Drive-Enclosure-Case-Caddy-SATA-USB-3-0-/331574021780?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d335a0e940
