Which mobile phone?

Hello there, currently an owner of an iphone 4 which has served me well for past 5 years.

However, its panels click in places they shouldn't. The flash has developed an orange tint that ruins photos. It's feeling distinctly slow at many standard tasks. The battery seems to run down incredibly fast even when not being used. Daily recharge required regardless of usage. Can't update to latest iOS as I know it will slow it down even more (ios 7) so some apps will no longer function on it, like banking apps.

Basically it is slowly turning into a brick.

I need a replacement. iPhones too expensive. A year old iphone has barely dropped in price despite newer version. Whereas a year old android phone LG, Sony has dropped to half if less in some cases, making them bargains compared to an iPhone costing £200 more while being less advanced.

I'm stuck trying to pick an alternative. I want a good phone that is quick, fluid and responsive doing everyday tasks. Good camera/video recording. Decent battery life. And no more than c £250.

So far I'm looking at Sony Xperia Z3 compact or LG G3.

Both sound decent. But I think I might prefer the smaller Z3 compact over the G3 but not sure without trying both in flesh. LG has better camera though with optical image stabilisation and laser focus in low light.

I'm Happy with resolution of current phone. LG has much higher resolution. Z3 has lower. Think it's 7ppi less than iphone 4, would that even be noticeable though in normal use?
