Skirts tend to look more flattering on larger ladies, but wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Well that's all a matter of opinion of course. I had rather hoped the days of telling people what they should/shouldn't wear based on their body shape were in the past. Apparently not.0 -

If you can't dress according to your own shape/colouring, etc what can you dress by? Some of the most awful sartorial disasters come from people dressing for the figure or looks they want to have, rather than what they actually have. We've all been there, I'm sure :rotfl:The report button is for abusive posts, not because you don't like someone, or their opinions0 -

Really ?
Whatever gave you that idea ?
People want to look nice and certain styles still suit different shapes and sizes.
Curvier figures look better in entirely different styles to stick insects and thankfully fashionable stores now cater for both and not just up to size 12 or 14.
Nothing wrong with wanting to look your best - The days of feminists deliberately dressing badly to make a political statement are thankfully long gone !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

What an odd comment! I'm a larger lady, and i can assure you that trousers are far more flattering on me than skirts. I think it depends on the overall shape and proportions of your body, rather than size.0 -

I agree there's nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. What I object to is someone saying you should only wear trousers if you're slim.
People should be able to wear whatever they want to wear, whatever they're comfortable with, without other people commenting on whether it's appropriate clothing for their size.
If the OP wants to wear trousers she should wear them, whether she's a size 6 or a size 26. In my opinion.0 -
Good lord, of course you can wear trousers to a christening.
You're not thinking of leggings or jeans, are you.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
