Considering that such a job regards strict confidentiality integrity, do you think you are suited for the job, by posting what you have above?

What a welcome for a new forum member.:(

The OP has done absolutely nothing wrong by asking for advice on here.

This is not a request for what type of question will be asked in an interview, but what type of question will be asked at an interview for a very specific job. The OP, in my view, should not have mentioned the precise job title.

    Why on earth not?!

On the contrary, it is very important to mention the role, he isn't applying to sell insurance on the phone...

OP full training will be given and I am sure you will have full JD to refer to in your preparation, but working under pressure, dealing with stressful situations and being calm and assertive, particularly when dealing with stressed callers/life or death situations.

I am assuming as you have written NHS that it is specifically in their emergency centre and not in the telecom operator side?

    How long was the assessment?

Contact centre's are about time management - every second counts ;)

Oh come on. This is just a speculative post hoping that somebody would be foolish enough to tell a complete stranger what questions they were asked for such a post. Put it another way if the person interviewing the OP was to know what they were doing would they be impressed?

Maybe also something about how to manage stress. Not just at the time of a difficult call, but afterwards when all the could have/should haves are going round your brain and you can't take it home with you. So, support systems within the limits of confidentiality.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Do you really think a recruiter would be unimpressed by an applicant trying to find more information about what to expect at interview?

Confidentiality, as in the information callers provide to them, not as in you have to keep you job and what it involves a secret.

Besides, the people running the NHS do not give a hoot about patients' confidentiality - it is only the front line staff that are supposed to. And the bosses expect the front line staff to input patients details into databases and computer systems that share information without consent. Nothing you tell the NHS is confidential.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

You are being beyond ridiculous. Anyone with an ounce of common sense will do all in their power to find anything they can out that will help them in an interview. Recruiters know this. The OP did absolutely nothing wrong in asking for hints/tips. To suggest they have breached some sort of confidentiality by asking and thus rendering themselves unfit for purpose is pathetic.

You're doing the right thing OP, looking at the competencies and thinking of suitable examples. Confidentiality will no doubt be mentioned, along with equality and diversity, of which you're no doubt aware of the key issues.

One point I would mention is that (at least in theory) call handlers should focus on quality of calls and not quantity. I would be amazed if you were asked how many calls you can take in an hour - and if you are you should answer that you couldn't give a number because it would vary according to the needs of each caller.
