Time limit on credit file correction?

Is there any kind of time limit by which Experian have to correct your credit file?
I moved house back in January and immediately registered on the Electoral Roll and received confirmation from the council that I was added. This never appeared on my credit report from Experian.

I contacted them and provided the letter from the council but I'm still waiting for them to correct it months later. All they tell me is that they have a backlog. It's very frustrating since any application for any financial products all seem to get rejected as they can't confirm the address or I have to go to the hassle of sending in authenticated copies of statements, bills etc.

Incidentally the same happened with Equifax and they updated it within a week.

    Hi Togauk,

I'm sorry to hear that your electoral roll details have not been updated onyour report as yet.

We update from the rolling register when they are received, it can take6-8 weeks from registering to appear on your report. As you registered inJanuary we would expect this to show by now.

If you email your details (name, address, date of birth) to me I willlook into this for you and find out what is happening.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards
    Neil
