PPI and name change

I recently sent off 3 PPI complaints to Santander, Canada Square and HSBC. I got married after these accounts had been closed so I sent off copies of my wedding certificate with all 3. I have had letters back from all 3 the one from Santander is addressed to my new name and no meantion of further evidence needed is made in the letter, but Canada square and HSBC say they need original copies or certified ones.
I completely understand then needing these but I know some people have experienced problems with getting their name changed when complaining about PPI so my question is what is the best way of dealing with this? Do I send them my original (I'm worried this will go missing and I only have one copy) or do I have a copy certified in branch at HSBC? It also says I can get this done at the post office but do they charge for this??
My last question is I also had a letter from Barclay card saying egg transferred accounts over to them in 2011 and they couldn't uphold my complaint as they couldn't find any record of me, but I had sent the original complaint to Canada Square and told them that my account was closed in 2005 so why would they send this on to Barclay card? The letter was sent after I received one from Canada Square saying they were investigating but it was dated before, but I'm now a little confused as to what's going on!

Don't send them your original. Go into the branch. They should be able to do it. If they won't for whatever reason then go to the post office. They do charge but from memory it is only about £5/6My last question is I also had a letter from Barclay card saying egg transferred accounts over to them in 2011 and they couldn't uphold my complaint as they couldn't find any record of me, but I had sent the original complaint to Canada Square and told them that my account was closed in 2005 so why would they send this on to Barclay card? I think Barclaycard have taken over Egg's complete portfolio including their liabilities (others may be able to correct me if wrong). At a guess I'd say the first letter was an admin error and they have now found your account, the second letter getting to you before the first was just random change with the postal service. If there's a number on it you're best to call and ask.0 -
It just confused me because one letter saying no account was from barclaycard and the one saying investigating was from Canada Square, I'll call them on Monday just to make sure.
I may have to go to the post office for at least one certified copy cause can't see HSBC doing two for free for me when I only need one for them!0 -
I have the same thing with HSBC. I posted my original wedding certificate off to them, recorded delivery and it was returned last Friday, exactly a week later, recorded delivery also. (Still haven't got my money yet though!)0
