Cheap One Day Car Insurance

I need to pick a car up I won on Ebay, and the easiest way to do it is by, travelling on the train and driving it back, the car is MOT'd and there is tax still on it, I do know about the new tax laws. I am looking for a cheap one day insurance company. The intention is to strip it and rebuilt so a full insurance would be a waste of money.

Careful. Once ownership is transferred it is NOT taxed. So are they not transferring ownership. To make it SORN you would need the car registered in your name.

Have you any other motor insurance policies? It may be easier and cheaper to add the vehicle to an existing policy.

Technically yes, but until the V5 is received and processed by DVLA then no-one is any the wiser. So as long as the seller hasn't sent it off already then the OP shouldn't have a problem.

Like I said I know the tax law and if you put the registration into a computer on the day of purchase it will come up as taxed, and show as taxed inside the police car. The DVLA are screwing us over anyway with these new tax laws, they claim it will save them money, but I dont see the tax going down, but no doubt this has been discussed many times on here. Now even I am straying away from my original question ;-)

Any time I've had day insurance, they were all much the same cost wise. Going through a cashback site might help.

don't know if they are cheap, but seems to be a relatively pain free way to get insurance,
