To avoid constantly having to tell new posters that they have not used the correct format when posting, couldn’t a form be used, as in mail merge? Then it would simply be a case of filling in the fields and when posted it would be in the correct format, ensuring consistency for manipulation of the data.
No doubt you will all let me know the reasons why it isn’t done this way!

Presumably because this is a huge forum, and the Competitions area is just one part of it and it's a little problem to deal with in the grand scheme of things0
