    *cautious as her first post*

Congratulations to your daughter! I didn't dare check Track last week. (I got into Durham, so very happy)

It's such a shame that her friend didn't get in, but it is certainly not your daughter's fault, so I hope it blows over soon.

I've been browsing this forum for student tips, it has been so helpful :)
  • I go to Goldsmiths too! Congrats to your daughter!
    :heart2:

  • Congrats to your daughter!! Has it sunk in yet?? lol

I had to double check the UCAS site with my friend to make sure I was reading my status right too lol.

I can understand what your daughter is going through with her friend as I'm in a similar situation too.

We are 'mature' students and have just studied for a year on an Access to Nursing course at our local college. In total their were 4 of us (1 of which was my best college buddy) who were lucky enough to be offered a place at Cardiff uni to study Nursing and we were all expecting to start this September.

However, last Thursday my closest friend out of the group was told that her place had been deferred until March 08. The reason she had been given was simply due to so many people meeting their offer conditions this year and the lack of NHS bursaries. The policy is to give bursaries to the people who scored highest in the enterance exams/interviews. (Not what you want to hear when your world has just been shattered!)

Obviously I'm thrilled that I have got in this September, as are the other two girls, but I fear it is at the cost of our friendship  as she hasn't been intouch despite my efforts to contact her.

Ahh well, I'm sure both my situation and your daughters will right itself eventually.

    Well done once again!!

     :T
  • i had to keep checkin my status too to see if it was real! Off to huddersfield uni at the end of september!
