I do not know the exact limits but unless you are thinking of buying 100 of these then £2.18 will be way under what you need to start paying import charges on. I have brought plenty of items from China more than this with no issues over imports fees. I have noticed in the last year that few items brought from China seem to get through to me. I have heard customs in China have tightened up.

Have you looked to see if anyone has it for the same price in the UK? Sellers in China sometimes use UK based dispatchers for their item to get over delivery times and buyers who will only buy from UK based items. I have often found them to be only a few pence more expensive then buying direct from China

local tax? Are you in the UK?

You wont have any issues with a £2.18 order. If you order tons every day then they may suspect that your a reseller but i ordered quite a bit from China,
a dozen packages this week alone.

Just beware anything mains powered, i wouldnt trust it.

Double check the solder joints before you fit that item and compare
it to the original to make sure they have not wired it backwards
    or have any loose connections.
