in Credit cards
I am not too got with credit cards especially balance transferring etc. A month ago I wanted £500 in my account, I rang my credit card company natwest, as I saw on their website that you can transfer cash in to any UK bank account free of charge above £250. their customer service told me that it will cost you £100 for £500, why don’t you transfer a balance and than we can transfer £500 into your bank account, although I did not know how this balance transfer works they ask if I have any other credit or store card, I only have mothercare store card which I never used. I thought they probably took the money out of it and put in my bank account, they ask how much balance you want in your store card, I thought they probably asking how much credit limit I have in that card, I told £700.
Next thing I know is that I have been charged £22 balance transfer fee, £500 in to my bank account, £700 in my mothercare store card from my Natwest credit card, and now mothercare store card is in £700 credit as I never used it.
Now dilemma here is that mothercare card team (GE Money) is hesitant to refund my money, they are asking for proofs, I have send them my credit card statement where it says “Balance Transfer £700” more than week ago but nothing heard from them.
Due to lack of knowledge I am not sure what to do now, why mothercare is hasitant to refund my money, they can clearly see from where money has arrived, why Natwest did not transfer money in to my bank account free of charge, why they insist on balance transfer instead?
Any advice please?
Many thanks
AJ

As you have been easily talked into this I would suggest that you get some help on your side before you make any further money moves.
gather up your paperwork about this transaction and go to the Citizen's advice bureau where the advice is free and impartial. They will help you make /or take the right decisions.
I could go on about how to get out of this mess by using Super Balance trasfers and stuff like that but i don't want you to be more confused or end up in more diffulculty so a face to face meeting with the staff at the CAB i think would be the most helpful way forward at this time.
Good luck.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0
