I have just been pricing tyres for my partner's car. - We want two 175/65 R14 H tyres for the MOT next month. Local garages are quoting about £40 each. Kwick Fit have Arrospeed at £41 for one, or £62.98 for two fully fiited. The tyres on the car at the moment are Semprit. The Costco is 90 miles away, they quote 70 dollars each!
Are the Arrospade tyres OK?

No idea on that economy brand. Try this: https://www.mytyres.co.uk

Just had a look and you can get Pirelli, Dunlop, goodyear or continental for about £31 each for your size tyres. Buy 2 or more tyres they include free delivery. Have it fitted at a local tyre place for £5 each tyre, about another £5 for balance (only front wheels need balancing). These tyres are T rated upto 118mph, this website offers great value.

Dont compromise on your safety as non branded or economy tyres wears out quick, more road noise, consumes more fuel and they dont handle well as the major brands. Always go with branded tyres.

I am looking at their site and cannot find any that you say I can get. I have double checked and cannot see where I am going wrong. There is the Semprit at £36.60 and a local garage can fit for £7 according to the site. I cannot find
Pirelli, Dunlop, goodyear or continental for about £31 each. Any ideas?

On the main page there is a tyre size selection (select your tyre size) and then you select the speed index, then click the search button.

Yep, did all that several times -
    Size 175/65 R14
    Speed H
    Types all
Category 1 (also tried the other options)
    Tyres 2
It gave a selection of 29 tyres
I did try to post the results but they were too long for MSE and the link only returned their Home page.

Yeah, the selection I took from was Speed T - rated upto 118mph, H rated tyres cost more from £44+ for goodyear.

Arrowspeed is Kwik Fit's own brand; they are made by Goodyear for Kwik Fit. I haven't read any good reviews of them online, but equally well I've only read a few bad ones.

They are VERY good value, if only they are OK! (Does that make sense?) I don't believe you'll beat them for price especially if you buy 2 or 4 when you get even more discount.

The National Avon deal is also excellent and I might consider that for my car when the tyres get a bit more worn out! I am torn between that deal and the Arrowspeeds.

I'd love to hear what you decide, and what you think of the Arrowspeeds if you get them.

I wouldn't. As stated on here, better to buy online and get your usual greasemonkey to do the honours -- generally about 7-8 quid per corner.

A *very* good "budget"-ish tyre is the Kumho. These Korean tyres are superb value for money, and very good quality (excellent grip etc).
