Bathroom problems!:(

Options
Hi i'm new:)

My bathroom really get me down!its a rubbish design.

Basically i moved in 1.5yrs ago and its a 4yr old house, so modern etc.
the builders have fitted a 3piece bathroom with mixer taps.
There is a annoying shelf at the far end of the bathroom where the sink etc is (to hide pipes) however after moving in i had to remove tiles and reattach them because water was settling on the shelf and getting behind the tiles.
this is now rectified.

The problems started because i wanted 2 use the shower!
i had to tile all the way up because they hadnt done this, however now i have another problem!
the bath has a lip at one end, i think so you can lie comfortably when bathing. when showering i have to make sure the water is as far away from the far end with the shelf as possible to prevent more water settling. however this means that sometimes the water gets on the edge of the bath and then runs down the side!:(

this is ruining my carpet and the skirting board is swollen and cracked because of the water!:( its fine when i shower but my housemates arent always so considerate!

Have considered having a shower screen as well and curtain to try to prevent the water running down?!

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
budget as always is limited:( i am considering having vinyl flooring, local guy said about £50 fitted, but is it easy and cheaper to do it myself? do i need underlay??

sorry its long!

thanks Katie

    Hi

Not sure how I managed that!!

It's a Bathstore product, we got one when they were on sale for about £150 Fit a curtain on the rail and away you go.
Carpet in a bathroom doesn't really work unless you are carefull so in your situation go for vinyl. It's not something I would fit myself , it's easy to make a wrong cut.
