I may be wrong but i am sure i read somewhere that you can download any music brought from them.

It's easy to do, depends if you have any music on amazon with the auto rip logo on.0

Also as long as it's not been 'gifted'. I bought a CD for my sister which was gifted and I can't get that as a download0

Just bought 3 CD's for the wife.
Stupid (but good) thing was that the physical CD's were cheaper than the digital downloads but were on Auto-rip so have the digital downloads immediately anyway, whilst waiting for the CD's which will probably never be opened.
