INR case against me - do I have a chance?

Hi all!
I have had a Item not received case open against me. The buyer had initially messaged me less than 48 hours after payment asking where the item was as they had not received this - despite the listing state second class. the messages have continued and she has now opened a case.
She has repeatedly requested a tracking number, despite the listing stating second class only. This has made me suspicious and now she has left feedback for another item confirming she has had a refund for another item not received within the week.
Is there anything i can do, or because I can not prove delivery, I have to refund? (I think I know the answer!)
I tried ebay chat but i kept being told i should have sent tracked (helpful!)
Thank you!

No you don't have a chance but you don't have to make it easy either if you suspect foul play...0 -
There are some awful people out there who feel they are justified in ripping you off if they don't get things instantly. Firstly you can report these members using the report feature. Secondly you might want to add a day or two to your dispatch time to try to avoid this in the future. People really do order things late on a Friday evening and ask where they are on the Sunday.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Have you tried emailing the buyer to test the water?
Say you notice from their feedback that they'very had other items go missing so can they confirm that their address is correct. Offer to call their local sorting office to investigate. If they're trying it on they might back down.0 -
Can you contact others they have bought things from to see if there is a pattern.
I would then PHONE customer service and say you think the buyer is suspicious, as they started complaining about not receiving it after only 2 days, and have done the same to others.
Don't forget to leave them some feedback saying "I am sorry your item didn't arrive" to indicate to other sellers that they might be a scammer.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
thanks all!
I emailed the buyer stating exactly that - that I noticed from other feedback that they may be having difficulty receiving post etc - they didn't take the bait and stated that out of 16 parcels ordered that week, all but 2 arrived which they believe is good!
I contacted another seller who confirmed the same thing. I tried 3 times to get through to ebay on the phone with no joy - think i've lost this one, but I will report the buyer and leave the suggested feedback to warn others.

Persist with eBay and don't leave feedback 'to warn others'. As a seller you need to be careful what feedback you leave.0
