Insurance against credit card fraud?

I have just become a credit card tart thanks to this site. I switched to a Natwest credit card with a 0% on balance transfers.

When I called to activate the card they went through the usual welcome to Natwest etc. Then the woman on the phone tried to get me to have their PPI. I of course declined, thank you Martin because previously I would have agreed to it.

She got quite pushy but I stood my ground. She then asked me if I wanted to take their insurance to be covered against credit card fraud????

Do you think they have realised we know about PPI and they are hoping they can replace it with this? I had never heard of this. Has anyone else been offered it?

I work for the insurance company that provide this, It`s been going for 25 years and is provided for lots of Banks like NW, Barclays, MBNA to name a few. I obviously have to careful what i say about my employers
I can tell you they have over 8 million customers. This service covers all your cards so you ring one No. to stop them all, amongst other benefits like passport cover and emergency loans. I`m not trying to sell it to you, i think it`s something you can do without but it can be useful to some people.
It also protects the whole family. You have to make sure you update your address with them if you move though, an occasional problem is people moving house then seeing a debit at a later date because they didn`t get their renewal letter. Unless you call within 14 days of renewal you aren`t entitled to you`re money back. Like all insurance, you need to read the T&C`s.
