hi im using version 6.0.2800/1106

and i had a virsu on my pc
after runnign adaware, avast and now recently f-secure
i believe the virsu has gone

i didnt opt for norton or avg as they are really slow and poor.

but now when i log on to pages where users id input is requried such as hotmail or ebay
the message appears as 'an occur has ocured, internet explorer wil now close, please restart the pc' or along those lines

it will not work
how can i ensure thsi error from not apeparing, i plan to run adaware once more..........

f-secure ran for 4 hours but eventually foudn 28 viruses which were deleted......

You could download Intenet Explorer again, uninstall the old version and reinstall it. Or start using another browser like Firefox.

I wouldn't use firefox at the moment, it has some really serious security problems.

Sounds BTW as if you've corrupted IE somehow so it needs repairing.

So Google "repair internet explorer" whihc gives this as the first link - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=318378

LOL. That made me chuckle. If it was the case that people didn't use software because of security problems. IE wouldn't exist!

There is a work around for this problem and Firefox untill a patch comes out. The advice is to disable Javascript and the Software installation option in Firefox untill the fix is released from the Mozilla Foundation.

Are you only getting errors with IE6? No ther progs affected?

Dodgy RAM can be an issue with IE6 needing to close down.

Download hijackthis and copy the log here.......
