Landlord Gas Boiler Cover

Can anyone anyone can recommend a company other than British Gas for boiler cover? I currently have HomeCare 400 for Landlords and the renewal has risen a lot.

Self insurance. Get yourself a local company for any problems that arise.
BG will not replace an old faulty boiler that cannot be repaired. Maximum age is 7 years. For some reason they can't get the parts but your local engineer can.
BG will not flush the system and they recommend a full system flush far too often when it's not needed.
The first time they visited my boiler they recommended a flush then because I refused the treatment they refused to fix the problem. I got a refund. I then rang a local engineer who fixed the problem.:footie:

Sorry, I should have written that it's an all singing/dancing policy with Plumbing & Drains cover, Home Electrical Cover, and Landlords Certification as well as the Central Heating Cover. The boiler is over 9 years old now.0

Ring BG and tell them you're not renewing.
They'll reduce the charge.
Or find a decent local independant engineer. Put £30 a month into a new savings account to use if you have a problem. After two years with no problems, use half of it for a holiday.0 -
Rang BG - reduction of £10 per month and no excess to pay. Have decided to stay with them - especially as the boiler is over 9 years old.0

Did you read the fine print? They won't do anything if the boiler is over 7 years old and they can't get the part. Your local gas engineer can get the parts it's just that BG do not want to fix old boilers by stocking what they consider old parts and would rather replace the boiler charging you for a new one.
