Advice on Worcester Bosch Boiler warranties
Options
I've recently had my central heating & boiler installer for the first time, I have a Worcester Bosch 30i Boiler which comes with a 5 year warranty, the installer mentioned it has to serviced annually by Bosch or a Bosch accredited installer to ensure the warranty remains valid.
I was thinking of using a British Gas 'Homecare' policy which covers things like radiators, boiler etc... but if I use them would by warranty with Worcester become invalid?

British Gas are accredited so warranty would be valid. However with a new boiler why pay BG's fees?
Can you not get the installer to carry out an annual service? - shouldn't cost more than about £600 -
Good point - I guess I was thinking of paying extra as it covers the radiators too, but as everything is brand new i'd guess they should be fine for a while, thanks for the advice0

Is your installer WB accredited and if so could he/she deal with it?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

My installer is WB accredited so could do it guess, I was just thinking of the additional cover incase the radiators pack up or something like that.
P.S Interesting quote in the signature.. the 1% need eradicating! :beer:0 -
If it's a new installation then it should be covered for the first 12 months under warranty. Even if the plumber has done nothing more than install a new boiler ( with a full system descale) then I would expect all leaks and component failures to be covered. Don't forget to register your new boiler on the WB site. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thanks - i've registered my boiler on the Worcester Bosch mobile app & also registered the Salus Filter too (on the salus controls website).
Cheers for the advice, as a new homeowner all of this is a bit new to :beer:0 -
Radiators don't just 'pack up'. There's nothing to go wrong, unless they leak, which they would do from new if so. Insuring this part of the system is a complete waste of money. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for the advice guys it is much appreciated - like i said as a new homeowner i'm picking this this all up day by day but it sure is fun0

And bear in mind that the WB warranty does not cover the flue-unless they've changed their T&C's in the last couple of years. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
