Section 75 Query

Hi
I currently have a Barclaycard which I was intending to shut a couple of weeks ago as it was at a high interest rate and also small limit.
However when calling to close, the retentions team put in on 0% for 12 months and also upped the limit to something more useful.
I am using an inheritance in the new year to pay for a new car (conditions of inheritance etc) and obviously will need to pay the deposit when I order it late this year, now the card will have enough on it to pay the deposit using it and therefore get the Section 75 protection.
If I decide to close the card in July next year, 4 months after taking delivery of the car does the section 75 protection remain in place despite the account being close or does it end at that point.
Thanks
Paul

It stays in place.
However, on a practical note, you may find it easier for them to retrieve your details etc if the account is still open, should you need to talk to them further down the line.0 -
also with cars, it can be difficult to prove once you have had the car 6 months. trust me I had it with seatDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
