I have heard that Toyota cars are the most reliable, and German cars are better on performance and less on reliability.
Though Skoda have a good new car deal where u pay £100 month and you get the best car of 2015 - Fabia.
Though should I keep my Ford Focus Ghia 1.8 Zetec on almost 115000 miles as it runs fast and quiet on Shell V-Power?
Though I am not really into cars, but I need a good car as I had a baby girl, so I am a little worried about car safety, nor am I a member of AA, RAC etc.

The Fabia offer is more like £177 per month, because there is a £3,271.14 deposit."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

Kia cars are very reliable and keen on price. And the bonus of a 7 year warranty
You can haggle wit AA and RAC and join for as little as £25. Peace of mind is priceless.
Just change to the other one year on year and you will get it at that price for years.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The best new car deal you will ever find is to buy a used car.0

I thought this was suppose to be a money savings forum? Shouldn't we be encouraging the OP to buy a use car at a feasible price rather that taking one out at loan?0

If your current car is running well, then keep it. The amount you'd spend / lose on a new car would pay for an awful lot of maintenance & repairs. If you're worried about breaking down, £41 a year will cover you with Autoaid.
Even if you were to buy a second-hand car, you then don't know its history, and it could cost you a lot in repairs. You know the history of your own car, you know what's been replaced, what's due to be replaced soon, etc. etc.
Replacing a good car "just because it's getting a bit old" is about as un-MSE as you can get0 -

This makes sense. As I know it has had a new battery, New exhaust, New hand brake and New front suspension. I cannot see the point of joining aa, as all they do is take the car back to your house. I believe u can pay a company to take your car where u want it for £60 when it does happen. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche

The AA and most breakdown companies will take you from Land's End to John O'Groats if you get the right package.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Autoaid will take you where you want if you break down - whether that be the nearest garage, home, a friend's house, your local garage, whatever. At £41 a year ( which covers you and spouse in any car ) it's hard to beat.0 -
Autoaid is brilliant if you have the ability to pay your recovery bill up front and then claim it back (Although I used the service last month and wasn't billed for some reason).
My son uses Insurance Choice (IC Breakdown which is slightly dearer but very good)
As far as new cars go if you buy one thats under warranty check the warranty as well. My wife has a 4 year old Toyota Yaris with a 5 year warranty. Every little issue has been covered including Interior mirror coming loose and all 4 wheels being replaced last year due to corrosion. On the other hand I bought a new Focus 2 years ago, 13 months old I had corrosion on my front alloys (Sorry sir wheels are only covered for 12 months:() This time round just coming up to 2 year service all my door seals are starting to come away from the metal. Took it to my local dealer yesterday and again informed Sorry sir seals are classed as trim and only have 12 month warranty.
Car itself is great but customer service is awful. I will never buy another Ford again.0 -

Funny thing, my mot guy who fixes cars in his back garden, said get a Toyota yaris, for 1400 very reliable. As he was finding it hard to get the parts for my now 15 year old focus ghia 1.8 on almost 115000 miles.
But it is a single woman's car....When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
