I think Smart Parking may be ignoring me now !

Options
Hi all,

Over the last few years, I had several PCNs from Smart Parking. I have always followed the advice on this forum; ignore the letters or wait for the NTK.

I popped into Asda yetserday and, when I returned to my car, I noticed a Smart parking attendant looking at my car, which had no ticket.

I saw him taking notes and photos. He eventually disappeared after a few minutes so I went to my car expecting to see a PCN but was disappointed to find nothing on my car.

I may be assuming but I think that Smart may not be bothering with PCNs for my car as I am a repeat offender. What does everyone else think ?

Maybe asda have a local policy allowing a few minutes grace, and he was noting it for a return visit in x mins time?

My local asda is pay and display, but I've never paid and never been ticketed.

Similarly I once saw a PPC patrol (few years ago mind) at morrisons and asked if I'd be ok for 5 mins, and he said he has to give everyone 20 mins on the store managers say so. Needless to say, it wasnt parking eye!
  • Mmmm but I was in the store for approx 30mins.

    Wishful thinking on your part.

I very much doubt you getting anywhere close to the number of breaches of their 'roolz' i make only to be followed by tickets.

Most likely that store just have an attendant with a modicum of common sense - yes, they do exist.
  • Hi,

Oh dear I have got a NTK from Smart Parking for last month lol. I was never given a PCN on my windscreen but never mind, I have appealed online at smartparking.com using the template in the newbies sticky.

I must admit that I don't know why Smart Parking are bothering or wasting their money and time with me as I have never paid for any of their PCNs; so I would hope they would realize this and just give up.

    Oh well never mind lol.

ghost ticketing , as you stated above you saw them taking photo's but not issuing tickets

this is neither ANPR or ticketing , WHAT DATE did the so called offence occur?

ANPR ticket 14 days or under
    Ticketed 29-56 days

to hold you liable , have they met this condition , NO because there was no ticket on the car!!! (you said offence was last month , todays date is the 29th of this month)

I hope you have not named yourself on your appeal to smart , because unless they have met the conditions above , they can only chase the driver NOT THE RK

Many thanks for your response. The date of the alleged offence was before 29/7/15. I won't give specific details of the date as I don't want to reveal my details to Smart.

For info, it was not an ANPR.

I have not revealed the name of the driver in my appeal and have just used the appeal template in the newbies sticky.

    nor was t6he car ticketed!

no ticket on car , must be by the ANPR method , and as there NTK arrived after 14 days , they cannot hold the RK liable

don't $%^& around , get them told properly , tell them to speak to the driver ,

Okay. It was not APNR as they don't have the system in the car park.

I suggest that the ticket bloke did not bother to stick a PCN on my car.

I won't reveal who the driver was as I not obliged to under POFA with Smart.

No worries here as it Smart and they always give up when you send the template appeal lol !
  • Just had confirmation em that good old Smart have cancelled my PCN. Oh well never mind....just used the standard template letter lol !
