ppi and endowment

Hi we had our mortgage as an endowment (which was mis-sold) but as the mortgage advisor wasn't regulated he got out of paying us. My next query is the 'insurance' we would have taken out to protect us should we fall out of work etc to pay the endowment. Can we claim pip for this? our endowment was with scottish life home loans and the insurance i believe with scottish life, many thanks

An endowment is not PPI. Did you have a separate PPI policy?

You mention the lender and the endowment policy but no mention of who the PPI was with.

However, its irrelevant whether you had it or not as insurance regulation started in January 2005. Some brokers/advisers may have to consider complaints to earlier in 2000 if they were members of the mortgage code. However, you say your advsier was not regulated at the time the endowment was sold. That was April 1988. So, from that, we can tell your sale was way before insurance regulation and can be barred in the same way your endowment was.
