Hi guys
I got some video on a DVD I would like to edit into some short clips (it's of my football team).
I've never ever looked into this thing before and wonder if someone can recommend some free easy to use software that will allow me to cut say 1 minute chunks out of the action.
I then plan to either host some of the highlights on my website or via YouTube, Facebook etc
Any advice welcome
Cheers

Windows moviemaker, part of windows XP SP2.
You need a separate burner if you are going to put your finished masterpiece back onto DVD.

You'll also need some software to rip the DVD onto the computer so you can edit it.
But Windows Movie Maker is a nice, easy but powerful piece of kit to get you started.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
You'll need this to copy the material off the DVD and on to your HDD; http://www.magicdvdripper.com/dvd-ripper.htm
I think it allows a few free 'rips'.0 -
Thanks guys
Couple of questions......
1) Can I use Movie Maker to rip from the DVD?
2) If not I have AnyDVD, CloneDVD which I've used to "cough backup" disks in the past. My m8 says I can rip to HDD using this and then use Movie Maker. Is this correct?
Cheers again

Before you can edit DVD extracted (ripped) files they will have to be converted to mpeg format. For serious editing Movie Maker does not and never will come up to the mark. After about a month of frustration you will realise this0
