I was shocked that when I informed plusnet I was ending my service with them they said there was a £30 disconnection fee despite the contract having been fulfilled. Does anyone know if I can avoid this? I am moving from a privately rented property into a household that already has the internet etc set up (my mums)! Plusnet claim this charge is in the t and c's, but I think it must've been hidden deep because I'd never heard of such a charge until the other day

Everyone, no matter which company they are with, has to pay this charge of £30 if the connection is not being taken up by another company.
If you were, for example, transferring from Plusnet to Sky, no fee would be payable."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
It's been charged by every BT-based ISP for about seven years now. It's passing on the charge made by BT OR to your ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
