The Reading Hospital car park is a purpose built multi storey that would have cost millions. It cost no more to park there than in the other car parks in town.

And my local hospital has a patch of tarmac where an hour costs £2, two hours £4. The nearest council car park (which is a purpose-built multi-storey that would've cost millions) is £1.20 for an hour. £4 gets you four hours.

Same in North Staffordshire. 50p for an hour on the road. £1.60 if I decide to pay Apcoa in the hospital grounds. Apcoa do nothing for the additional money: no 'car park management' to direct people to spaces in busy periods. They don't even provide legible signs, so I am unaware of the terms of any contract which they may allege at some point in the future.
