The MOBO – Music of Black Origin – Awards show is one of the most exciting music events in the UK’s entertainment calendar, year after year getting bigger and better. And 2007 will be no exception! Launched in 1996 as the first black music awards show in Europe, the event has evolved into the ultimate high profile destination for the very best in urban music today.
Over the past decade the MOBO Awards have attracted leading international artists such as Destiny’s Child, Janet Jackson, P Diddy, Tina Turner, 50 Cent and Jay Z in addition to profiling the stellar talent that the UK offers such as Lemar, Jamelia, Sade and Sway.
The Awards are decided by the general public with nominees being voted for by The MOBO Academy. This year’s nominations will be announced on Wednesday, 22 August.
The 2007 MOBO awards will take place at a prestigious London landmark venue on Wednesday, 19 September.
