Building Insurance Surveyor in Essex

I am looking to go for structure survey for the property. The property is in Essex, Chelmsford area and 84 years old house.

This is because the valuation guy have added following comments in the valuation report:
  • The property require full repair and refurbishment work
  • The property has suffered previous movement but I saw no evidence to suggest this is ongoing
  • The damp proof course is too low and may not be fully effective

Should I simply google the surveyor and how much should it cost?

If any one can recommend a surveyor they have used that will be greatly appreciated.

The Morton Partnership Ltd (based in Coggeshall I think) did a full structural survey on a property over 100 years old in Chelmsford for us this year. They came on recommendation to us and we were happy with what they did. They have done work on cathedrals and all sorts of other things. We wanted particular advice in regards to previous subsidence, the property wasn't huge or particularly unique.

For my purchase, we got quotes from ReallyMoving.com. The cheapest happened to have really great reviews so I went with them, but only for a Homebuyer's Report.
