Road tax direct debit

My bank have returned my direct debit for vehicle excise duty, the DVLA will try again on 24/07 what I need to know is am I ok to drive still? They haven't notified me that it isn't and I haven't received any notifications to the contrary.

    It's August's tax that's bounced. You're covered until the end of the month, but DVLA might well withdraw DD from you and ask you to buy 6/12mo upfront.

    isn't it meant to come out of your account around the 1st of the month? or at least in the first week of the month, I know mine are scheduled to come out between the 1st and 4th each month.

    Bank returned it? Lack of funds or some other reason?

    Speak to your bank and find out why they didn't pay the DD.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
