Hi,
Please can someone advise me how to go about getting internet access without signing up to a lengthy contract?
Some friends from Spain are renting a flat for 2 weeks and have found out there is no WIFI there. They've asked for my help to sort out the best way to allow them to access the internet via their mobile phones and laptop without spending a fortune.
I did suggest they hang out in Starbucks or on the tube, but apparently they don't fancy that!
I've done a bit of research but my head has started spinning with routers, dongles and SIMs.
Before I throw myself at the mercy of a phone shop or PC World and they make mincemeat of me - please can someone advise me what I should be asking for at least?
A hundred thank yous in advance...

you can get dongles with preloaded amounts of data
https://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/tablets-and-dongles/dongles-and-mobile-wi-fi/index.htm
all the mobile companies do this just an example of what it is"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
For two weeks can it not be just a preloaded data SIM card and one of their phones used as a wifi hotspot?0

A few good options:
If they already have a suitable Smartphone that allows them to share Internet access, then this SIM will give them up to 101GB of data, 50 SMS and 50 calling minutes for a £10 Top up.
Alternatively, if they are good friends and are willing to pay up to £30, you can get this Huawei 4G MiFi for £30(if you give the 30 day notice to cancel once received).
This comes with 15GB of data. They can't go over the 15GB allowance unless they top up themselves, so it will be fine for you to give them the unit....or for you to keep it once they've finished using it and for them to pay you just for the usage, perhaps £10 for the two week period. It can supply Internet access for up to ten users at a time.
If for some reason you are unable to obtain the 30 day contract, you can buy this 3G MiFi for £19.99. It comes with 2GB of data. If they are likely to use that up in no time, they can use it with the SIM at the top of this post or a 6GB Prepaid SIM costing £14.99. So overall the most expensive option at £34.98 for 8GB of data and a 3G MiFi. Though £29.99 with the 101GB data SIM.0 -

Thank you all very much indeed. We're going with the Huawei option - had a long live chat with a lovely man called Rohan (although I think he was losing the will to live by the end of our chat!).
You've all been very helpful - so thank you!0 -

via CarPhoneWarehouse? Don't apply too early as likely you will only wish to pay for one month.
Have no idea as to why you needed to chat to Rohan at all.
Once you receive the item, call EE to give your 30 day notice to cancel, if you don't wish to continue the contract beyond a month.
The MiFi is unlocked, so can be used for holidays abroad with a local SIM or as a back up at home.0
