Thanks for all the feedback. I suspect that like so many of these "wonder solutions" there's a grain of logic in there somewhere but it's mostly hype. I think I'll spend the £30 on some nice wine and stop worrying.
  • I have been using this product for 4 years .... at first I was very sceptical of its efficacy but was fed up with smells and constant pump outs. You do have to remember to pop one sachet in the toilet every month and let it dissolve for an hour before flushing. They do however send you an email reminder every month to do this.

Despite having been extremely careful about only natural waste and non offensive cleaning products, (eg non-bio washing liquid, no bleaches, eco friendly toilet cleaner etc) my tank needed emptying every 18 months and emitted ghastly odours on occasion. I did also check that the "weeper system" for distributing the waste water was working effectively.

As a result, I have not had to have the septic tank pumped at all in the last 4 years (at £90 a pop) saving £180 after the cost of the product plus no odours of any kind. Seems like the French had the right idea after all.

This thread is over a year old, and your post smells like canned meat.

We too use the Muck Munchers and haven't had our tank emptied for 3 years so far. We were sceptical at first too.

How often you have your tank emptied depends on a number of variables, including usage and the size of it, but finding out after it fails is an expensive way to run the thing, so reckon on a pump-out every two years or so.

The neighbours here (5 people, constantly at home, hardly ever venturing beyond the garden!) managed to go about 8 years before blocking the shared soakaway. They didn't use any kind of additives, other than those in their diet of freezer meals.....
  • The use of enzymes is essential to promote the decomposition of waste within the septic tank.

[STRIKE]Total b*llocks.[/STRIKE] I'm awfully sorry old chap, but I think you may be unintentionally misleading people.

(One has to be nice to 'newbies' ;))

One doesn't need to introduce things which are already there.....unless you've killed them, that is.

Which your website no doubt sells ? I can't read Chinese or Spamese or whatever language it is, but the pictures look very much like you're in the septic tank business. Spam reported.
