Virgin mobile help?

Have to say I am well and truly disgusted with the service I have received from Virgin today. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade and have now had enough. I had a hardware fault on my 4 month old phone and sent it in for repair. (Clearly such a new phone with a fault would be covered by warranty) Chased it up today only to be told the camera has a crack in it and therefore warranty is void and I have to pay full cost of any repair!! There was nothing wrong with the camera. The fault was with the phone which would not stop vibrating!! I thought under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 the item should be "fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time". Please tell me how a mobile which vibrates constantly even when turned off meets this description? I am so cross. If there is a crack in the camera which I have never seen then was it sold to me like that? I have never dropped the phone. Is there any point me trying to argue with them?
