Land Of Leather - Reading

Well what can I say about this company!!!!! nothing good thats for sure.
Ordered a 3 + 2 seater sofas in September last year, delivery was before christmas as agreed and everything was going great. unfortunatly it deteriated from there.
shortly afterwards both the recliners started to squeak and grate when operated, complained to LOL who refused to return my calls, eventually got a repair man to fix it, he added more screws to the mechanism but this did not work, his answer was to wedge cardboard between the hinges to stop the noise!!!! I phoned LOL to speak to the manager and told him i was not prepared to accept this repair as I paid nearly £2,000 and want something done about it, he said he would "ring me staight back". he never did!!!
anyway after 10 phone calls over Jan and Feb I went in to see the manager face to face, told him I wanted written confirmation that they are exchanging my suite and would not leave the shop until i had this in my hand. Eventually got a hand written note on headed paper (very professional). Told me it would be delivered in 4 weeks!!! 9 weeks have past and I rang the last week, they told me the suite was only ordered 3 weeks earlier and it would be another 5 weeks till delivery!!. That was like a red rag to a bull, I stated that if the manager did not ring me back withijn the hour I would issue a county court summons and name both the managing directore and the store manager in the summons. Got a call back saying the suite would be in on Tuesday this week for delivery Wednesday (today).
Phoned them yesterday late afternoon to confirm it was coming today only to be told that the suite is the wrong colour match and they are ordering another one!!!!!!!!! told the sales man that I am now going to issue the summons for a full refund on Wednesday. Got a call back from the manager who stated that they had 2 suites in and the one for me was ok (blamed it on some new sales guy not knowing which was my suite) and it woulod be delivered today!!!
We shall wait with baited breath.
All I can say to you moneysavers is that I have been lied to, had 90% of my calls not returned and would never buy from this company again. Looking at the reviews in other forums via google it makes very interesting reading. In the end I had to threaten them with court action to get them to sort this out.

I'm not quite at an age to be buying expensive furnishings yet (25, still renting) but I'm increasingly realising that all this can be avoided by shopping at select reltailers with better reputations, John Lewis, MandS etc.0

Hasn't the guy who runs this company run similar companies before and all gone bust?

Quick update!! to my post
Was promised delivery between 1 -2 pm today , phoned them at 5pm to be told its only just left Reading and will be here at 6.30pm (another wasted day off)
Will definatley be seeking compensation, can anyone tell me the name of the managing director0
