Going beyond the Overdraft limit

Hello Friends

If one goes above one's allocated overdraft limit, how long does this 'badness' remain on your credit file/report?

Is it 6 months? a year?

Thanks

6 years as with all good and bad credit indications.

Yes six years. You might just go over for a day but you're then (possibly) knackered for six years.

I notice that if you go over with HSBC they give you 'till 20:00 hrs of the day in question to put it right. Are other banks like that now?

How long were you over the limit for? Occasionally I've gone over mine - usually when a DD comes out a day or so before I get paid and then I get the usual charge for that - but I've not noticed it impact my file at all, I get all the nice green ticks along the way. Presumably I'm back in it when they report though :D
Hubbys CC though has been over its limit for 3 months, again he'll pay some and get charged and again, its green ticks to say everything up to date?

Phew! that is good! I'll check if that is the case when my £2 report arrives from Experian :)

Even if it doe show, it is only a minor blemish which will count for less and less the older it gets.

Really? I thought it would be massive! I thought something like this would make me look bad for the next 6 years!

I go over drawn by about £20-30 most months for a few days and it's never reflected on my credit report.
