How much were they? They would have to be a reasonable amount of money for it to be worthwhile swapping and paying to return them.

If you get them back and they have clearly been swapped, send them a message saying that they appear to have sent the wrong pair back, as you always send items with a small UV marking in them in case of returns, so could they please send the correct pair back to get their refund.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I adopt a zero tolerance to fraud. It's the principle, not the cost. And the scammers pays the cost not me, so it discourages them from doing it again.
You've obviously been lucky in who you've been scammed by. There are plenty who really wouldn't care about going to court and would never pay up, you could end up losing over £100 for the sake of a lost fiver. I've worked with bailiffs who regularly come away empty handed from people who have been successfully sued, that's several lost days, court fees and bailiff fees.

  • Thanks they were converse trainers, so a popular brand they were like new she paid £11.50 which is an extremely good price for these, my daughter had only worn them twice but on the second time cried saying they were hurting her foot (broken foot nothing to do with the shoes.) After foot came out of plaster 6 weeks later they were too small for her, I thought rubbish took her to get her feet measured to prove a point to child but her feet had indeed grown a size and a half. The shoes this woman has sent back are exactly the same trainers a size smaller, and in an appalling condition. My thoughts are she's got the new trainers sent me the scruffy old ones in return! I have phoned e-bay and they are looking into it as we speak. Thank you for the helpful comments I think e-bays just lost another seller! I cannot be bothered to deal with this rubbish!
    1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16
    Make £2.50 a day £80.82/77.50
Sealed pot opening Nov 2018: ???
Going back to being to basics. And penny pinching in 2018 This will be my year 😘

email buyer via ebay, tell ber she seems to have sent back the wrong pair, and tell her that she needs to return the correct pair if she wants a refund.

    did she return them tracked?

You need to chase this up and send her a letter before action if she pushes for the refund.

  • E-bay have put the transaction on a hold at the moment, while they review the situation. She returned these through e-bay (who are apparently charging me for this.)
e-bay has stated that I have a good case against this lady and that they are trying to crack down on sellers like this!

I would also phone eBay and keep making it clear that the buyer has returned the wrong pair of shoes (dirty and different size) and are clearly trying to scam you.

Have you responded to the buyer letting her know she has sent the wrong pair back?
