Account frozen - can't get wages!

A bit off topic, but 30% to the PPI company? Wow, no wonder I get constant emails, phone calls and texts.
And I thought all you had to do was write to the bank and they would sort it.0 -
I wonder how they would code the account of a staff member who has online access and who has requested no marketing. Just as an example.
Some other indicator codes are here: http://www.poemhunter.com/sammy-s-notes/comments/
011 - deceased
015 - dormant account
020 - check address
038 - refer to customer notes
040 - no marketing
041 - staff
047 - online banking
048 - bankruptcy
623 - no charges
646 - account transaction prohibited
657 - refer to AQCU0 -
If you don't mind me asking, how much were the cheques for? It must be a very high amount for it to be triggered?0

More than one indicator would be inserted.
They have customer indicators and account indicators.
So a staff member who was also registered for online banking and had opted for no marketing would have 040, 041 and 047 customer indicators on their account.
A customer with an account that had been restricted might have a 646 account indicator and 038 customer indicator referring the staff member to the customer notes. They may also have a 623 account indicator inserted to prevent any charges (e.g. Club Lloyds fee) been applied while no transactions are allowed.0 -
***UPDATE***
OH went into ranch and the very nice employee sorted it very quickly. Annoyingly there appeared to be notes as to why the block had been placed and therefore no reason given.
All is well until last night when I tried to transfer the PPI company's money back to my account as I had paid - it won't allow it even though an automated telephone call to home went ok. I have managed to transfer a smaller amount (£500) so maybe we'll just have to do it that way.
OH was still unhappy at the whole debacle and left Halifax and went straight across to Natwest to re-open an account with them. Apparently they can't do that in branch though! Pity any person who does not have internet access nowadays.0 -

Two cheques totalling just over £5,000. One was for approx £3300 and something and the other approx £1800.
Not insignificant but not uncommon amounts as earnings can total more than £2k a month.0 -
Easy money isn't it?! We would have done it ourselves but (a) we are lazy and (b) we probably would never have got round to it so although it's a bit eye-watering when you have to pay their commission charge it's still £3k in our bank account that we would never have got round to claiming.tonycottee wrote: »A bit off topic, but 30% to the PPI company? Oh I see, that's why the account was frozen because £5,000 was deposited which is a large amount of money.0 -
Really? I could understand £5000 as cash, but as a cheque seems unlikely. I (and many others on here) have moved larger sums than this without any issue. £5000 really isn't a very large sum of money.Oh I see, that's why the account was frozen because £5,000 was deposited which is a large amount of money.0
