Claiming if you've no details??

I'm a bit late to the PPI party as I've never had any loans, but I have had various credit cards where I did balance transfers, probably 3 or 4, which I had from 2006 - 2013.

I don't think I had PPI with any of them, but am not 100% sure, so I'm wondering if it's worth enquiring anyway? Unfortunately I don't have any paperwork relating to these cards anymore, but I do have a note of the card companies and dates from my Experian report.

Would I be able to enquire if I don't even have a record of the account number, and if so, how would I go about it?

Do it. It's easy, and you have nothing to lose - do it yourself, and don't use a claims company.

I've just successfully claimed £4,300 from RBS for a loan that ran between 2003-2009. I didn't have any of the paperwork, but just used the dates from a credit report. Thhey checked all accounts from me (not just the one I enquired about).

Didn't think I'd get anything, but was shocked when I had the letter. Just fill in the standard financial ombudsman form and send it off.
