It might well have been disclosed if the buyer had raised the question through the solicitorThanks for the advice. Alas this is likely to be the last house they buy due to age (ground floor flat) so a tough lesson to learn.
However - this information should be disclosed by the sellers as either part of the missives or in the homebuyers report for the purposes of full disclosure.0 -
How extensive is the renovation? Would they be able to furnish it and work around the furniture? (And spend the occasional night there - the requirement would be 25 nights in a 12 month period.)
If so, it could be classed as a second home.
Then, instead of paying a council tax surcharge, they could get a discount of 10%.
