Unsecured loan with a default?

Hi, sorry for the potentially silly sounding question. My partner has a good job, steady income, a credit card that's never paid late, and managed to get car finance earlier this year which has always been paid on time. She recently checked her credit file as she needs a small (2-3k) loan and found she had a £667 default from 2011 from a company called think finance. It's all getting queried as she is adamant she doesn't knew anything about it. The question is, are there any lenders, other than guarantor loan companies that consider people with defaults? I say other than guarantor lenders as that isn't an option. She doesn't wanna apply randomly to loads of places for fear of damaging her credit rating further. Just curious to see if it's a lost cause or if there are any companies out there. Thanks in advance.

I've had a quick look on Google and Think Finance (a U.S based company) t/a Sunny Loans over here in the U.K.

Assuming your partner hasn't ever taken out a Pay Day Loan then I'd suggest she resolves in getting the Default removed (if it's been incorrectly applied) and waiting for her credit files (Call Credit, Equifax and Experian) to be updated before thinking about applying.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Thanks for the quick response, that's what I suggested to her, she's just impatient. I don't want her to wreck her credit file hence why I said I'd ask for her. Yeah she's written to the CRA's and hopefully she can sort it. Thanks
